The land that brought us Carnival, Gisele, the skimpiest of bikinis and a certain style of, er, grooming, has a problem with what has to be one of Paris Hilton's demurest performances in a long time.
Brazil's Secretariat for Women's Affairs has objected to a commercial for Devassa beer, starring the heiress, in which she stands in the window of an office building.
And attracts interested looks from passersby on the street below—as well as a photographer in possession of what must be a zoom lens—as she writhes around holding a can of suds.
And Paris isn't naked or anything, or wearing a bikini made of beer foam. She's fully clad in a little black dress. The lady wears less when she eats her Carls Jr. burgers! But apparently it could be perceived as offensive to women, particularly blond women.
"The problem with the ad isn't a lack of clothing, but its sensual nature," says Eduardo Correia, a spokesman for the private watchdog agency Conar. "A woman in a bikini on a beach isn't necessarily sensual; it depends on the context."
